James Hartsuiker

April 6, 1918 – April 24,2008

Dad was born in Boyden, Iowa.  Shortly thereafter, his family moved to LaVerne, MN and that was where he was raised.  He was in the Army, 1st Infantry and survived all 5 of the major battles, including North Africa, Sicily, Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge and the Black Forest.  When he returned after the War, he moved to California.  There he met and married Mom, Beulah Jean Squire, in 1948.  They lived in Whittier, then Santa Ana, Orange (where we boys were raised), Rohnert Park, Susanville and then left California for Fort Mohave, Arizona in DEC of 2007.

Dad was proceeded by brothers Clarence, Chris and Dewey; and sister Alice.  He is survived by sisters Gertrude and Lucy.  Dad had 2 grandchildren Adam and Amanda, 1 step-grandchild Kristal, and 1 great-grandchild Eloise Renee (Ellie Rae).

Some of my fondest recent memories of Dad are of Him and Ellie Rae.
