Almost Spring

Kinda. We went from 50 degree days to 78+ in a week. We had an awesome thunder and lightning storm over the weekend. At night, the whole house rattled and was lit up like daylight.

Eloise and I drove to Sacramento a week ago to do a couple of things. I still go there to advise and guide the new manager of Airless Spray Center. Wading through the city, county and state stuff drags on.  I think that the next end of quarter will cover most.  Then the end of year will be the next big hurtle.

The other part of the mission was to pick up our grand daughters. Eloise and Anna-Gail will spend a month or so with us in Parma. Being that Eloise and I are still working for Quantum, This makes for interesting days. We take some alternating days to work from home. A day or two they spend the day in the conference room or walking to the YWCA. There is a facility 5 or 6 blocks from the office and our home gym in Caldwell.

We are planning a road trip to see Eloise’s aunt Teddy. Should be for interesting writing later.

The remodel is finally starting to get close to being finished. We’ve had to replace most of the “contractors”. The master bathroom just needs to have the shower tile grouted and sealed. I am building the bedroom closet/cabinet to match the 1918 design, including making all new cabinet doors. The entry, music room and hall (where the door was filled in) have been textured. I will still need to cut, install, prime and paint the trim for these rooms as well as the bedrooms (which are missing all trim). We’re also planning to have an attic ladder/access installed. Then, of course, I will need to prime and paint the kitchen cabinets; and all of the walls therein. The carpet in the music room, living room, dining room and bedrooms is scheduled. As is the kitchen and service porch floors. Then I get the basement. A new dividing wall will close off the hvac, water heater, etc. I will then build a simple closet and carpet the floor, coat the stairs and the guest room will be moved downstairs. The second ground level bedroom will then be our office. The front porch was built first (right after the hot tub and gazebo were installed), irrigation system is installed, timers included. Yard is fended, hydro-seeded and the trees are planted.
